Letters From Families

Sue and Staff at Ivory House,

I wanted to personally thank you for the lovely boxed oranges. It has been my pleasure to have worked with you and your agency. I take great pride in making referrals to agencies depending upon my patients’ needs, and trust that your agency is doing the same. I have been very pleased with you and your staff’s attentiveness and coordination of care needs. I am pleased to continue referring patients and maintain our working relationship.

Sincerely,

SB

Dear Sue and Hazel,

Thank you for the kind note. Your organization has done an excellent job of taking care that the last year of my parents’ lives were lived in dignity and as fruitful as practical. The aides have acted in a professional, trustworthy and caring manner. Their close attention to my mother clearly prolonged her life at least 6 months. Thank you for your efforts.

RF

Dear Melanie,

Thank you from the bottom of my heart and soul for all you have done for Fitz, and for coming to the funeral. Words cannot say the phenomenal care and attention you gave to him. My entire family is deeply grateful to you. We could never have done it ourselves. If I can ever help you in any way, please let me know.

If you organization ever needs a reference, I’m the girl for the job.

Thank you again,

ML

Dear Hazel,

A much belated but very grateful thank you for all that you did to help me and my siblings during my Mom’s illness. To me especially, you were a great help – not only because of your knowledge – but because of your compassion, especially when faced with the insanity of today’s healthcare systems.

I would love to have lunch sometime if you are available. I hope your husband is doing well.

Thanks again and best wishes,

MR

Dear Hazel and Mary Rose,

Thanksgiving always has me very grateful to those who care for my medical needs and concerns. You both are in my thoughts and special prayers for all the professional help you have been to me, and for the generous and loving personal and healing touches you especially provide so well. We Jesuits are very fortunate for this special care of yours. I wish you both every professional and personal satisfaction and joy that can possibly come from your important work. Miss you and hope to see you in Philadelphia before too long.

Father M.H.

Dear Hazel,

Everything seems clearer and more hopeful after talking with you. Thanks so much for your knowledge, your wisdom, your patient listening – and your sense of humor.

MC

Dear Hazel,

Approximately 2 ½ years ago, you came to my rescue. I truly feel that you and the entire staff paved the way for Mother to enjoy her final days as she so strongly desired.

True, there were ups and downs but our goal was achieved.

Thank you for helping me and my family walk a very rocky road.

Best Regards,

JP

Dear Hazel, Melanie, Donna, Juliet, Tracey, Monique and Clara,

I hope you will understand a group letter. This comes with countless thanks to each of you personally, and to all of you as a team, for everything you did for my mother since last summer.

Hazel, there is nothing to say, because there is too much to say…and, when I try, the tears come. What on earth would have happened without you…?

Melanie, thank you for everything from crucial medical updates to shopping. Hazel told me you had to take clothes back to Talbots…I hope that your trip home was a success and that your dad is okay.

Donna, I cannot fathom what things would have been like all the days at Sinai without you and your knowledge and support. And I never could have survived that last day without you and Hazel there. FYI, I’ve been trading phone messages with L.L. (the VP Faculty Practice who finally got things moving that Monday). I’d like to talk to her again and get some additional closure on what happened that day.

Juliet, thank you for being there when the time came, and for all the other times…and fruit!

Tracey, I am glad you were there for a final time also, although I know it was very hard. Also, thank you for adding zest to Mom’s days while Juliet added calm to her nights.

Monique, thank you for the lovely cards and for all your help to Mom. I’m glad I finally got to meet you and exchange information together to keep things on track. Also, please thank your families for their patience and understanding when your home life was interrupted by calls from Mom or me or you were delayed getting home because of her care.

Hazel, please pass on thanks to Margie, Sheila, Frank and all others at Ivory House who helped.

All of you are very special people!

Kelly and David join me in sending love and gratitude,

PL

Dear Melanie,

You should be pleased that Barry and I are both happier since you arranged his move to Charlotte Hall in June. He finds the company there congenial and also appreciates my weekly visits. So, yes absence has made his heart grow fonder of me!

Best wishes for the holidays and a Happy New Year.
